PLAN YOUR FREEZE-DRYING PROJECT
Freeze Drying Capacity & Cost Calculator
Estimate dried output, explore batch costs and compare equipment. Your results update as you type.
01How much dried product could you make?
Choose a food reference or enter your measured moisture content.
Theoretical dried output
—kg
Before sorting, handling or other process losses.
Use this dried output as my target →Dried output = wet weight × (1 − starting moisture) ÷ (1 − final moisture)
02What could this batch cost?
All costs are optional. Leave unknown items blank; enter 0 only when an item has no cost.
Price per kg loaded into the dryer.
Material cost updates with your batch weight.
Energy reference matched to your model
These references are for preliminary planning with our equipment. Enter local energy prices, use your own consumption values, or enter batch bills directly.
Average consumption is prefilled. Enter local prices to estimate batch energy costs; blank prices remain unknown.
Batch electricity & steam costs
Our laboratory planning reference is 2.7 kWh/kg wet feed with no steam. Other references: commercial equipment, industrial equipment. References follow the recommended equipment category. Actual consumption depends on the product and process.
Other batch costs
Unit: USD / batchEnter actual or allocated costs for this batch. Avoid double counting and review these amounts when changing batch size.
03Which model and how much space?
Start with your wet batch weight and our fruit-and-vegetable loading references.
A starting point for equipment selection
—
Specifications follow our equipment records. Loading ranges and 8–15 hour drying times are fruit-and-vegetable references. The 24-hour figures assume two batches. Confirm feasible batch schedules, including loading and defrosting, for your product; drying time is not calculated from moisture.
Laboratory footprint is width × length, excluding access and maintenance space. Commercial and industrial space ranges follow our records. Installed power is for electrical supply planning; it is not average energy use. Peak steam demand sizes the steam supply; it is not consumption per kg of feed.
